Connections/Hookups

Do you know at least one person that seems to know everyone or knows where to get anything? Or are you that person that has the connections to anything and anyone?

I had an incident today that made me think about this a bit more. I enjoy being that guy. I like being the guy people talk to when they are looking for something or someone. I may not know celebrities or have a hookup to illegal goods or substances but I do have connections.

If its not something I can do myself, I know someone that can or I know where to find what they are looking for. I don't anything out of these connections/hookups but its nice being able to help other people. At times, both sides of the connection benefit from my hookup.

Often my connection may be through a couple other people but I can still produce results. I love seeing the look on people's faces when they are shocked that I know someone in that field or I know someone that lives there, etc etc.
The fact I have moved in many different places and made friends (real friends, not MySpace random people friends) all over the country certainly helps. Now that I'm getting older, all those friends I've made are working in all types of industries and my connections are only getting stronger.

With my knowledge of how connections can be beneficial I feel I should do something with these powers. First thing I'm going to do is put together a nation wide event for fun. After that I'll think about building a website.
