Public Apology to Jordan's Furniture in Natick, MA

This is a public apology to Jordan's Furniture in Natick, MA relating to the events in their parking lot on the night of Wed, October 15th, 2008.

We had one of the best, if not the best, car meet of the year. The last time we were there, we had 150 cars and it was a great night without any incidences.

This last meet we had around 300 cars and probably 325 people there before 9pm.

I had only 145 cars signed up across the forums I posted on. My guess was 200 cars by 8:30pm (which was fairly accurate) which would fill the bottom lot that I asked to use. More cars kept showing up after the bottom lot was full. This was not expected and neither you or I wanted this to happen. At the time, I was not sure what to do but try to keep people away from the front door. I stepped away from the entrance for a bit and received a call from someone letting me know your management was driving around. I was then told we could use more of the lot as long as we were as far as possible from the door. I began asking people to move farther from the front door but only some listened to my requests ... this was the beginning of the end.

Due to the immaturity of a few, we were asked to leave by the police around 9:30pm. A couple of the patrons at the show that were not invited by myself through the forums I posted on were being disrespectful and endangering the others that were there. I specifically asked people not to do burnouts, donuts, and to leave and enter the lot quietly. In general, I asked that no one do anything that will get us kicked out. They did not follow the guidelines that we had posted ahead of time, therefore ruining the night for everyone else. Some of the people drove up to an hour and a half just to find the cars leaving the lot.

A number of the people that witnessed what happened have contacted the Natick Police with video, pictures, and information about the people that were acting inappropriate. I assure you they will not go unpunished in some way or another. We would like to have meets in the future and do not want people like this anywhere near the parking lot.

I'm not even going to embarrass myself by asking if we can have another meet there. I would have to be out of my mind to expect you to allow something like this ever again.

Below you will find people that are signing this apology and their comments.

We thank you for your time, space, and patience.

I agree with Taylor, it was a select few who were being immature and reckless... I would also like to apologize on behalf of the true automotive enthusiasts who wanted nothing more than to admire the work of other enthusiasts.

Although I did nothing wrong myself, I still feel responsible for the actions that happened that night as I was part of the 300 cars that attended. It's unfortunate that some people are too immature to contain themselves, and have to ruin it for everyone. I understand we will never have this opportunity again, but if we can ever be forgiven it would be an honor, because as already said, this was one of the most successful car meets to date until 9:30:PM

I also agree with what Taylor posted. This was to be a meet before the weather got too cold where everyone could take out their ride one last time and grab some food at Kelley's. It was posted everywhere not to do any burnouts, donuts, loud noises, etc.

Unfortunately, those not directly invited ruined a great thing for others due to immaturity and lack of respect.

My wife and I, as well as the group I brought would like to offer our sincere apologies for the rekless behavior of those in question. This is not what we and the organizers of the group are about; we came to have a good time, catch up with old friends and enjoy the beautiful night we had.

Big thanks to Jordan's and Kelley's for their generous accomodations.

I would also like to offer my apology for those few who acted so irresponsibly and disrespected your hospitably. I attended both meets and enjoyed talking to friends, looking at some great cars and eating at Kelley's.

An absolutely great show ruined by a few.

Taylor, if you want, I can help you set up another meet like this, trying to find a venue where something like this would be less likely, e.g. more remote and with less stretches for people to be idiots.

This past Wednesday was my second car meet at Jordan's Furniture. For both of these events that I attended, Taylor did a fantastic job of making sure the rules were understood and did everything in his power to keep things calm and safe. I made sure to enter and exit the parking lot in a slow and quiet fashion as to not disturb the neighbors. I got there early, around 5 pm and left when the groups was asked to do so, approx 9 pm.

I also wish to apologize for the actions of a few. Jordan's is a family store that I often visit my my wife and 2 young children. If I brought them to Jordan's on that night, I would have been appalled.

Again, thank you for allowing these events to occur as they are very much appreciated by most of us. I again apologize for the actions of the other few, who ruined this for all of us.

Thanks, Scott

I would like to Thank Taylor for all his time and effort for organizing the meet.

I would like to personally apologize to Jordan's and Kelley's for the actions of the few that could not respect the rules and regulations of the meet.

I left at 8pm and didn't hear what had happened until the next day and I was very disappointed!

I hope that the actions of the select few do not change the way you view the "car enthusiasts" or Taylor!

Thanks Ian

Thanks Taylor for setting this up and thanks Jordan for allowing us to use your parking lot. It is a shame that the deeds of a few affect the many.

We can hopefully learn from this incident and not have this happen to our next host.

I would first like to thank the Jordan's Furniture management for allowing us to have these amazing meets in the first place. I am very sorry for what was suppose to be a fun and drama free gathering had to be spoiled by the few who lacked the maturity that most of the auto enthusiasts at the meet had.

I've attended previous meets before and certainly thank Jordans for their hospitality.

Hi,
This was my first meet that I have attended at Jordan's. I can not believe how many cars showed up. It is sad that people took advantage of Jordan's gracious agreement to let us have this meet, to have it be stopped by their actions. I drove an hour and a half, when I got there I was like a kid in the candy store. I was drooling over every car. It was nice to see a diverese amount of people from all different forums to meet up like that. That is what it is all about, people who love cars to come meet and ust have fun checkng out other people's cars. To the people who took advantage of Jordan's agreement to hold the meet there, shame on you. To all the people that attended, it was nice to see all the cars. I thank Jordan's for letting us meet there and MyBoyBlue for organizing this meet.

First I'd like to thank Jordans Furniture and Kelly's for allowing us to host these amazing meets in the first place. I apologize for those who obviously lacked the maturity that most of us had and ruined the night for the rest of us. I was one of the few who arrived just in time to get kicked out by the Natick police. Although I did not drive an hour and a half like some did, my commute was still a respectable distance away. This will probably be the last time we will bother you at your establishment but I'd like the say this on the behalf of all the car enthusiasts present at this meet. We are thankful for your hospitality and we will go to great lengths to find those who vandalized your parking lot and endangered the rest of us.

There will always be an idiot in the crowd who doesn't care for anything or anyone else but him/her self. This was a great meet which I wished I could have made but now it's no longer going to continue. It's sad that these selfless idiots continue to give true car enthusiasts a bad rap on the streets and especially with police.

Thank you to the hosts for letting us gather at your fine establishments.

Thank you idiot in the supra for ruining everything.

I was very pleased I was able to make it to the meet and see how big of a turn out it actually was.

It was amazing to see such an event go so seemingly well...for at least a short period of time.

I made my way up from Rhode Island(easily over an hour drive) on my motorcycle just to meet up with some friends and gander at some awesome cars. For all that I would say thank you to Jordan's and to those who showed up and didn't ruin it for everyone else here.

My apology for those who can't act in a way that would allow such an extravagant event to continue. The only true way to show my apology is in my sincerest disappointment to what came out of the night and my long ride back home a little earlier then I would have liked.

greenblurr93 and I were having dinner across the street when everything went down. One of our friends notified us and we quickly came back to see the last of the cars leaving. Appoloies to Jordan's, Kelley's, and the neighborhood for the actions of those responsible. Thank you for hosting and thanks to Taylor for the organization of a great meet.

I apologize that

I feel bad that a few people ruined it for everyone. Taylor did a great job of trying to keep the meet as civil and respectful as possible. As I came in he asked me to park as far down as possible as the bottom lot had already been filled. I made sure to try to find a spot as far away as possible.

Taylor did a great job of setting up the meet and doing everything possible he could to keep it organized. A select few people ruined his hard work.

Thanks Kelly's and Jordan's and thanks to Taylor for making it happen even though it didn't have the ending we all wanted.

I wanted to apologize for the select few that too kit upon themselves to ruin a perfectly good event and family night at Jordan's Furniture last Wednesday night. Those of us that attended and were invited via the forums we're members of were well aware of the way to carry ourselves approaching, during and leaving the event. None of us were doing smoke shows or anything else that would possibly endanger any spectators or damage any of Jordan's property. Again I just wanted to take a second to apologize for the uninvited few that ruined it for the well behaved majority

I would like to take a minute to thank Taylor for organizing an awesome event and Jordans & Kellies for letting us use their lot.

There isn't much else that can be said other than, again, appoligizing to Jordan's for the few people who decided it would be "cool" to do burnouts.

Those are not true ethusiests, please try not to let the actions of a few mar your view of all car lovers. We are not all immature like that.

Either way, it was fun until I left at 8 and I would love to attend another event like this come spring time.

As someone who enjoyed the first big Jordan's meet that Taylor put together I have to say that I was just really dissapointed with the Supra owner's foolish behavior and that of, unfortunately, many others as well. After all, the police were responding to other people's behavior when they happened to come just when the Supra driver was doing dounts.
As someone who was there, acts responsibly, and is a Jordan's customer I would like to apologize to the management and employees at Jordan's and Kelly's, and would fully understand if they wouldn't want us back on the property. Which is really too bad as these meets could have kept going next year. The turnout was great so the interest was there from many people. It's too bad really.

I would like to extend my deepest apologies on behalf of the car enthusiasts who enjoy a night out enjoying cars of various types and meeting new people. The act of those being immature affects us all as a group and that kind of reckless behavior was told to all would not be tolerated prior to showing up. My club truly enjoyed and looked forward to wednesday nights, and the hospitality extended by Jordans and Kelleys.

Once again, myself, and the club in which I am in charge of extend our deepest apologies for those uninvited individuals who decided to ruin a good thing.

Taylor, you have my clubs full support. If anything is need, please reach out. - OMEGA46

Thanks to some punks for ruining what could have been a good time for true car enthusiasts who wanted to just hang out, eat some good food, and discuss car talk with other gear heads.

Sorry for the actions caused by the less intelligent people that appeared at this meet.

Thanks Taylor for organizing this meet and apology letter/site.

Jordan’s Management,

Thank you for allowing us to use your parking lot for the last two Wednesday Night BIG DINNER MEETs. This is an offshoot from our normal Subaru Boston Area Wednesday Night Local Meet. Organized by Taylor on both occasion, first bringing 150+ cars out and then 300+ cars. It was great to get more than just Subarus together and it appeared to have a great mixture of all makes and models as well as people from all different avenues.

Although the turnout was spectacular, there were unfortunately a few bad seeds in attendance. I would like to apologize for the behavior of those few. It was not the intent by anyone in the Subaru community for this to happen. I know we all hold ourselves partly accountable as we were not able to stop the occurrence before it happened. As posted by others, all invitees were told that this type of behavior was not acceptable. Unfortunately we cannot directly force anyone to abide by our rules.

In the future, we will be sure to have some type of security to reduce the possibility of this type of offense. I understand if you do not wish to allow us to return for these future event and respect that decision.

Regards,

Phil

I would also like to apologize to Kelly's and Jordan's for the shenanigans of a select few. It is a shame these kids had to ruin the meet as Taylor put so much effort into making this great event. I thoroughly enjoyed the meet as I left before the immature acts started and would like the thank Jordan's for the great opportunity.

Like everyone else has already said......People were told before the meet to keep things quiet because of the apartments nearby. It sucks that people have no respect and refuse to follow such simple directions. What a terrible ending to what could have been a great night.

I would like to thank Jordans for putting up with the events that took place. It was awesome for them to allow us to use the lot, and provide coupons, even after the loud first meet. Finally, I would like to apologize for the stupidity that occured.

i certainly apologize for the people involed in the negative activities that took place in your parking lot. and i thank you very much for the support you've shown to me and my team in previous meets. it's a shame we'll not be welcome for future events over these people.

Taylor did a great job putting these events together and setting some very SIMPLE rules. Too bad people were too stupid to follow them and ruined a really enjoyable time. Rachel (BMW 135)

This was one of the best shows i have been to in this area. Its unfortunate someones ignorance lead them to "showoff" at the show and get the cops involved. A few fools ruined it all for 300 others. I thank Jordans and kellys for letting us use their lot for the past meets we had, and apologize for the actions of the few individuals that decided to ruin a great get together.

Taylor could not have said it best. It really is sad how this ended as I saw some really great cars from people that were really nice and "MATURE" about the whole thing. Once things got out of hand, it was like hot import nights without the girls...And it was just lame. People showing off, being stupid, and worst part is that fathers brought their kids there (if anyone noticed) and people were still being stupid. Great example! I can assure you all, the RX8 club had nothing to do with any of this, as most of them left our cars for show and went to John Harvards anyways for dinner! Sorry to hear this happened and all..and hopefully..next meet will be better. Thanks for the effort Taylor, and check out my blog sometime at http://rezelse.blogspot.com

thanks everyone.

Thank you to Jordans and Kellys for letting us use the space. This was my second meet i have attended there and i always have so much fun. I left before all this happened around 8:30 but i will apologize for the few that acted immature that night. They could not even be adult enough to act responsible and thats a bad reflection on the rest of us. Completely understood if we are not allowed to use the property again but thank you for the time you allowed us these past few years.

I'd like to say sorry on the behalf of those of us who where there to enjoy themselves in a responsible manner. Sadly I can't for those who decided to take it upon themselves and ruin what for us and mainly for you a great meeting spot for enthusiast. I had hopes that this would turn into a meet like Bass Pro Shops in Foxoboro has every other Thursday durring the summer but alas its not to be.
I hope you the management of Kellys/Jordans accept our apologies and realize not all of us are to blame.

I 100% agree with Taylor, its a shame that a few people had to ruin it for over 100 people who DIDNT screw around. And despite keeping all of the people i brought in line, id like to apologize on behalf of those folks that i didn't know and appear to not even been invited who took it upon themselves to ruin a good thing. Once again i am deeply sorry this wonderful idea went wrong for the first time.

Thank you to Jordan's and Kelly's for graciously allowing us to use your parking lot for this meet. It was great to see so many different cars all at one show. It's not often that an event of this nature can even take place. Unfortunately for the few who chose to disregard the clearly stated rules, we have all lost the opportunity to return to your facility for another show. Please accept my sincerest apologies as there was no intent for this situation to arise.
